Imprisonment and financial penalty for tax and GST evasion

A Singaporean businessman operating an oil and gas equipment manufacturing firm was sentenced to 6 months jail and ordered to pay almost $1 million in penalties. The 59-year-old businessman was pleaded guilty to making false entries in his GST, income tax returns and wilfully evading tax between 2010 and 2012.

Imprisonment for sexually abusing young daughter

A 52-year-old Singaporean cleaner was sentenced to 18.5 years in jail and pleaded guilty of sexual assault by penetration of a minor. The remaining charges are drug consumption, possession of obscene and uncertified film.

Imprisonment and caning for PRC businessman who molested and raped Burmese maid

A 43-year-old businessman from People Republic of China who is also a permanent resident of Singapore molested and raped his 32-year old domestic worker from Myanmar.
